Over the centuries prayer shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace, and spiritual substance. The message is of caring that enriches both the lives of the giver as well as the recipient. This simple shawl begins from one stitch in an easy to follow pattern of increasing. Embellishments can include a fringed border, or crocheted edge with/without ribbon insertion. Supplies you will need: 29” circular knitting needle size 13, 3 skeins of yarn (acrylic is best to start your first one, and also makes it washable) Lion Brand has some nice choices of colors and you can use several colors if you wish. If using one color, make sure all of your skeins have the same dye lot number on the package. Pat will discuss types of yarn and color selection at the first class if you are unsure of what to purchase.

**Skills: all levels, know how to cast on, and the knit stitch will be explained.
