Did you know?

Kombucha is made by placing a SCOBY in sweet tea and allowing the tea to ferment 7 to 21 days. SCOBY stands for Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast. The kombucha brewing jar needs to be covered with a cloth and placed in a ventilated area out of direct sunlight. This fermented tea becomes slightly effervescent and contains over 50 different kinds of probiotics, enzymes, amino acids and B-vitamins. The fermented tea can be fermented a 2nd time to flavor the tea with fruit or fruit juice.
