Volunteers
An important part of the mission of Womanspace is to provide and promote leadership and volunteer opportunities for women. Of course, the partners and children of members as well as their friends are also welcome as volunteers!
Volunteers assist in many ways to keep Womanspace operating smoothly:
-
Serve on a committee.
-
Coordinate (chair) various special events presented by Womanspace (example: Spring Luncheon).
-
Teach a class or conduct a workshop in your area of interest/expertise.
-
Serve as “greeter” or “program host” for workshops or special events. (Greet participants; introduce speaker; participate in the program; clean up.)
-
Assist with office tasks: answer phones, staff Gallery2Go, computer data entry.
-
Help in the library: Learn to accession and shelve books, tapes and videos/DVDs; prepare bibliographies; process overdue materials, etc.
-
Assist with preparation of materials and cleanup in the art studio.
-
Join the Wednesday morning gardening group.
-
Prepare and/or donate food for gallery openings, new member events, Jr. Members' programs, special fundraisers, etc. Bake, freeze and donate cookies for the many events at which Womanspace provides hospitality.
-
Host gallery Opening Receptions in the galleries.
-
Give hands-on help with physical tasks, such as: garden work, maintenance and repair of the buildings, painting, driving, doing errands.
This is not an exhaustive list. Many other things, big and small, are done by volunteers. Please contact us and we will find a way to match your interests with our needs.
