Ancient Wisdom–Modern Science:
Myth, Psychology & Spirituality
For males and females, age 16 – adult; especially beneficial for couples.
When both individuals and our culture begin to fragment, because of a lack of mature
expressions of the feminine and the masculine, finding answers requires either going
deep within or very far out into mythic imagination. The lack of mature leadership,
stewardship and creativity in modern culture is painfully obvious to some. Yet, blinded
by our technological achievements, we often fail to acknowledge the crisis of emotional
maturity we are facing on a global level. This retreat will explore the resources that
lie deep within the human psyche as well as in mythic imagination that can help us lead
a more mature, creative and regenerative life. Please bring a dish to share at lunch.

Cleaning Out Your Spiritual Closet
Take stock of your spiritual growth and examine old beliefs that feel useless and
outmoded for an adult. What did you believe and live by and how has that changed?
What spiritual practices are meaningful to you now? What were major turning points
in your life that changed attitudes toward life, God, the hereafter, prayer, good
works? What are the challenges you face as you mature in this changing world?
Come share experiences with understanding, non-judgmental and compassionate guides.

The Sacred Contract of Mandalas
Every part of our live is an archetypal journey. Rooted in many different spiritual traditions,
mandalas use archetypal symbols, color and shapes from the unconscious, leading you to an
interior world through this enlightenment process. Transform your life by journeying into
sacred space with meditation, intention-setting, and constructing sacred luminous mandalas
that express your highest potential. Explore your own “Sacred Contract” with Mandalas and
transform your life through symbolism. Through this practice certified by Judith Cornell,
you may awaken to a deeper understanding of your purpose in life and the reason you were born.
No artistic background is required. Bring an open mind and your curious soul, plus an item with
personal significance to place on an “altar.” Supplemental materials for mandala making will
be available for purchase. Bring a dish to share at lunch.

Spring Equinox Labyrinth Celebrations
We invite you to reflect upon the balance of day and night experienced only at the Equinox.
Weather permitting, we will meet in our Anjali Pavilion, follow the ribbon hoops through
the woods, and gather at our beautiful Labyrinth. If the snow is too deep, we will travel
a smaller ancient path in our Fountain View Room or journey with Barrie via a finger
labyrinth. Choose either a noon or evening walk.
Barrie promotes movement prayer as a connection to a personal Sabbath. She has traveled to Chartres, France for intense study and labyrinth facilitator training from Veriditas and Lauren Artress, and helped build a new labyrinth there in 2011. Barrie integrates her vast background to build community through embodied meditation using the labyrinth as a tool for spiritual renewal.

A Retreat
Nurturing Soulful Connections & Leading from the Heart
Are you yearning for something more - at work, at home, in your family, or your church?
Tired of waiting for others to “get it,” while you remain frustrated, knowing that life
could be so much better for you, for others, for those close to you? You may be the one
who can see what is needed and wanted. At this retreat you will learn ways to connect with
the deep wellsprings that nourish your soul and fuel your dreams. We’ll explore ways to
connect with the energy of others so you can make shared dreams come true. Learn ways to
enable groups to see new possibilities, focus their energy, and open hearts and souls to
change, all while drawing on your authentic, personal style. Find renewed energy and
support for what matters most to you, and explore ways that your personal presence can
change things for the better, for you, for those you love, and possibly for many more.

Journey of the Female Hero
Explore elements of the classical hero cycle and how this applies to each and every one
of us in our contemporary lives. Inspired by Joseph Campbell’s research and his belief
that as human beings we are already heroic by virtue of being born, you will discover
connections to the timeless heroes in your own life. This workshop is designed especially
for women and is perfect for those who encounter conflict as they strive to reach major
life goals, whether it’s at work, in a relationship, parenting, creative effort, caretaking,
or other endeavor. Your new-found awareness of this recursive hero cycle will stimulate a
sense of empowerment and intention moving forward.
