Questions That Matter: Conversation Cafés

OCTOBER 21, 2006 (Saturday)
• at Rockford College Regents Hall
• 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• $70 includes breakfast & lunch

WOMANSPACE is proud to bring to Rockford MARGARET J. WHEATLEY. Author, lecturer and international consultant, Meg possesses an incredible talent to bring people together, "turning to one another," in simple conversations from which emerge collective intelligence, expanded consciousnessness, and hope for the future.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Leaders and active citizens of this community who help shape our health systems, educational institutions, churches, the Chamber of Commerce, city and county government, social service groups, major corporations, neighborhood groups, business and industry. All who experience the rich process and outcomes of this day are encouraged to take The World Café concept back to their own workplaces and environments.

WHAT WE HOPE FOR…In using the "World Café" process, our community’s common questions, problems, and visions for the future can be discussed without polarization and a rush-to-judgment.

WOMANSPACE believes that openness, tolerance, under-standing and compassion lead to a more caring, productive future for our entire community.

On October 21, Wheatley will guide the expected 250 participants in conversations with one another that will bring out the wisdom and knowledge of many diverse voices, sharing the experiences and insights of all with reverence and respect. With its emphasis on civil, candid, and high-stakes discussions, the World Café model opens up undreamed of possibilities for our community’s future.
