Create a spectacular object of art in this fun class, where you will make a free-standing wave of fused glass. Each student will cut and arrange strips of glass in a wave shape, which will then be fired in a kiln. After firing, the wave will be set in driftwood for a beautiful statement piece for your home.

The completed works of art will then be fired in a glass kiln, and students may pick up their work at Womanspace in 7-10 days. No glass cutting experience required. Safety glasses and masks will be provided if working with powdered glass. Closed-toe shoes will be required.

Gelli Plate Printing uses a gelatin plate to press to fabric or paper. The process is easy as the paint is put on the gelli surface, spread out with a brayer then a variety of stencils and other textural objects are placed on the gelli plate, removed and placed on the fabric.Join this class and have fun learning this interesting technique. No previous experience necessary.

Suggested supplies:  Bring favorite colors of acrylic paint ( some choices will be provided). For the collage process bring scrap book papers, old dictionary pages, found papers, postage stamps, etc.

Bring a subject to collage.  Rita has a bird photo for reference

Ages 8+ Create a unique piece of art—a fused glass snowflake or wreath—a perfect family activity! Using glass scraps and pre-cut embellishments, makers will create a wreath or snowflake of the colors and patterns of their choosing.

Each piece will then be fired in Pat's kiln, and will be ready for pickup at Womanspace one week after class.  Then, hang them on your tree, in your window or anywhere you see fit! Most glass pieces will be pre-fired, so no sharp edges. Safety goggles and masks will be supplied.
