There's something special about making art with fire. The smell. The slow burn. The deep rich color of a hot burn. Have you tried pyrography yet?

Join Nicole Landreth, local artist, in this introductory wood burning class for a chance to play with this popular medium. As the course title suggests, the primary focus in this class is to learn to let the wood burn, to let thermodynamics guide your pace.

You will learn about the tools, burn tips, play with line techniques, transfer techniques, and different wood/burnable surfaces. The first session will focus on experimenting/learning, the subsequent sessions will focus on a larger artistic piece with more detail. All supplies provided.

This session is cancelled. Please see the next session here

You can make a gorgeous window decoration of fused glass -- in our suncatcher class, each student will make a suncatcher, comprised of a central glass scene, accented by dangling beads. In the first class, you will decorate a 6"x6" piece of glass with your theme, then each piece will be fired in a kiln. In the second class, students will string beads in the pre-drilled holes in the glass, for a beautifully unique suncatcher. No glass cutting experience is required.  Safety glasses and masks will be provided if working with powdered glass. Closed-toe shoes will be required.
