Kelly's Show Statement
We all observe, discover, and evolve throughout life from our first to our last moment. The process molds and defines the truth of who we are and is worthy of every emotional and intellectual revelation that occurs. Moreso, each step in this journey, easy or hard, joyful or sorrowful, has cause for thankfulness.
As a woman who prefers the term ‘experienced’ to ‘senior’, I am coming to embrace a calm acceptance of who and what I am now with some grace and peace. I have always had a unique relationship with light and color, and I try and reflect that in my paintings.
In this sampling of my work, I delve even deeper into the analysis of light in my mindfulness as well as every aspect of my surroundings. Whether it be in a sunlit landscape, in the reflection of glassware, or in the humblest twinkle on a vegetable from my garden, I continue to explore through observation with reverence, excitement, and a playful juxtaposition between the lowly and the sublime through light.
