Main Building

The Main Building is the house first seen when driving into Womanspace. It is the heart of Womanspace and the center of many programs, exhibitions, and gatherings in the Rockford, IL area. Whether you are attending a class, visiting an art exhibit, meeting with staff, or participating in a special event, this is where many community connections begin.

The upper level of the main building is accessible to individuals with walking disabilities via a ramp located in the garage. The lower level is currently not accessible.

Loretta & William Reif Gallery

The Loretta & William Reif Gallery is our premier art gallery in Rockford, IL and a central gathering space within Womanspace. We host six exhibits each year featuring regional artists and diverse creative voices. The gallery also serves as a meeting space for programs, fundraising events, club gatherings, and board meetings.

Large windows overlook our Peace Garden, fountain, and front lawn, creating a welcoming atmosphere for exhibitions and events.

Thirty percent of all art purchases directly benefit Womanspace arts programming.

Artists interested in exhibiting are encouraged to contact us through our Contact Us page to share samples of their work and a résumé.

The gallery is occasionally available as a meeting and event space when not in use for programming. Please visit our Rentals page for details.

Gallery2Go is a unique gift shop featuring ever-changing displays of one-of-a-kind art and handcrafted items created by Womanspace members. Visitors will find art, jewelry, books, cards, textiles, and other distinctive gifts.

Up to thirty percent of each purchase supports Womanspace programs in the Rockford, IL area.

Gallery2Go is open to the public Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and during evenings and weekends when special programs are scheduled.

Staff Offices

The staff offices are located in the Main Building and serve as the administrative hub of Womanspace. If you are visiting to register for a program, ask questions, or meet with a staff member, this is where you’ll begin.



Our team is available during regular office hours to assist with registration, membership, rentals, and general inquiries.

Holistic health room

Our yoga studio, located on our lower level, is a dedicated yoga and movement space in Rockford, IL designed to support classes focused on wellness and embodied practice. The room features a padded floor, mirrored wall, yoga mats, light weights, and supportive equipment.



In addition to yoga and movement classes, the studio is sometimes used for meetings and gatherings. The space includes a screen and projector for presentations, along with a small kitchenette and water cooler.

The yoga studio may be available as a meeting space in Rockford, IL when not in use for programming. Please see our Rentals page for more information.

Library

Tucked inside the lower level of the Main Building is a small but meaningful library. The collection includes books exploring women’s lives, the feminist movement, spirituality, creativity, and voices that are not always easy to find elsewhere.



Members are welcome to browse and borrow books during business hours when the space is not in use for a class.
